Description
Mid-range “gateway” UHF RFID antenna with linear polarization can be used in doorway or other choke point to track tagged items moving through a controlled area. +5dBi gain allows this antenna to read ISO18000-6C & EPCglobal Class I Gen 2 RFID tags at up to 6 meters range. The antenna is very thin, only 20mm, and can be used on floor for sport timing system.
Note that tag orientation is very important when using a linear polarized antenna. Linear polarized antennas must have a known RFID tag orientation and the RFID tag must be fixed upon the same plane as the antenna in order to get a consistent read. Due to the concentrated emission, linear polarized antennas typically have greater read range than circular polarized antennas of the same gain.
